JOHOR BAHRU, 18 November 2025 \u2013 The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is delighted to congratulate Dr. Nur Syazwin binti Mansor<\/strong> from the Department of Mathematical Sciences<\/strong> for securing a Geran Penyelidik Baharu<\/strong> worth RM20,000<\/strong>. This recognition highlights the faculty\u2019s dedication to advancing research that supports national socio-economic planning and data-driven policymaking.<\/p>\n Her project, titled \u201cCompositional Data Analysis (CoDA) Based Clustering for Household Food Expenditure Patterns,\u201d<\/strong> aims to develop robust statistical models that can better capture, analyse, and categorise the way households allocate their spending on food. Using Compositional Data Analysis (CoDA), the study will provide more accurate insights into consumption behaviour, enabling improved forecasting and more effective strategies in economics, public health, and food security planning.<\/p>\n This research is expected to contribute to national efforts in understanding household expenditure trends, especially in the face of rising living costs and changing dietary preferences. It also strengthens the Faculty of Science\u2019s commitment to impactful, interdisciplinary research.<\/p>\n
