Johor Bahru<\/em> \u2013 A multidisciplinary research team from the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), led by Dr. Huszalina Hussin<\/strong>, has successfully secured a Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) MRUN Grant (Phase 1\/2025)<\/strong> amounting to RM237,565.00<\/strong> from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), Malaysia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The funded project, titled \u201cPemindahan Teknologi Pemprosesan Sisa Kupang Berasaskan Penyelidikan Universiti Ke Arah Keusahawanan Hijau Komuniti Pesisir\u201d<\/strong>, focuses on transferring university-based research into practical technologies for processing mussel waste, with the aim of fostering green entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods among coastal communities<\/strong>. The initiative aligns with national aspirations to strengthen the blue economy, reduce environmental waste, and enhance community resilience through innovation-driven solutions.<\/p>\n

The project brings together experts from multiple faculties and institutions, reflecting a strong collaborative approach. Team members include Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Fadhil Mad Din (FKA)<\/strong>, Prof. Madya ChM. Dr. Norahim Ibrahim (FS)<\/strong>, Dr. Nur Fatihah Tajul Arifin (FKT)<\/strong>, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Shreeshivasadan Chelliapan (FAI)<\/strong>, Dr. Norazlina Mohd Yasin (SPACE, UTM)<\/strong>, Prof. Madya Ir. Dr. Husnul Azan Tajarudin (USM)<\/strong>, Dr. Raihana Ridzuan (FS)<\/strong>, Dr. Azman Samad (FS)<\/strong>, Dr. Mira Panadi (FS)<\/strong>, Prof. Madya Dr. Razauden Mohamed Zulkifli (FS)<\/strong>, Prof. Madya Chm. Dr. Mohd Bakri Bakar (FS)<\/strong>, Prof. ChM. Dr. Zaiton Abdul Majid (FS)<\/strong>, Dr. Fariza Hanim Shuhailin (FS)<\/strong>, Dr. Nur Hidayah Ahmad (FS)<\/strong>, Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim (FS)<\/strong>, Prof. Madya Dr. Zuraidah Sulaiman (FM)<\/strong>, Dr. Nor Emmy Shuhada Derani (FM)<\/strong>, Dr. Mazilah Abdullah (FM)<\/strong>, and Dr. Santhana Krishna (USM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through the KTP MRUN framework, the project is expected to deliver tangible socio-economic impact by enabling coastal communities to adopt sustainable processing technologies, create value-added products, and reduce environmental burdens associated with shellfish waste. It also strengthens UTM\u2019s role as a key driver of knowledge transfer, community engagement, and sustainable innovation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
