Johor Bahru, Malaysia \u2013 The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), proudly celebrates another outstanding international achievement by its Department of Physics, as a research team secured two prestigious awards<\/strong> at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2025<\/strong>, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea.<\/p>\n The team won the Gold Medal<\/strong> and was further honoured with the Best Invention (Special Award)<\/strong>, presented by The First Institute of Researchers and Inventors (FIRI), Iran<\/strong>, for their innovative project entitled \u201cWireless Transmission System for Radiation Portal Monitoring (MyRPM)\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Led by Prof. Dr. Suhairul Hashim<\/strong> as Project Leader, the award-winning team comprises Dr. Mohamad Syazwan Mohd Sanusi, Dr. Razif Razali, Dr. Nor Ezzaty Ahmad, Ts. Dr. Fariza Hanim Suhailin<\/strong>, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abd Rashid Mohd Yusoff<\/strong>. Their collective expertise in physics and applied instrumentation enabled the successful development of a reliable wireless system for real-time radiation portal monitoring.<\/p>\n The MyRPM system addresses critical challenges in radiation safety by enhancing monitoring efficiency, data transmission reliability, and operational safety. Its potential applications span border security, industrial radiation facilities, nuclear-related environments, and research institutions, making it a highly impactful technological solution with strong societal relevance.<\/p>\n Receiving both the Gold Medal and the Best Invention Special Award underscores the originality, technical excellence, and international competitiveness of the innovation.
