JOHOR BAHRU, 24 February 2026<\/strong> \u2013 The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully organised a session of the Popular Science Seminar Series 2026<\/em> entitled \u201cEvolutionary Dynamics of Complex Multiple Games\u201d<\/strong>, presented by Dr. Azizi Rosli<\/strong> from the Department of Mathematical Sciences.<\/p>\n Held at UTM HELiX, C17, the seminar explored key concepts in evolutionary game theory (EGT), including Nash Equilibrium, Evolutionarily Stable Strategy (ESS), and replicator dynamics. Dr. Azizi highlighted the transition from classical game theory\u2014where rational individuals choose strategies\u2014to evolutionary dynamics, where strategies evolve through population interactions.<\/p>\n Using well-known examples such as the Hawk-Dove and Rock-Paper-Scissors games, the session demonstrated how strategy frequencies change over time and how stable equilibria emerge. The seminar further extended the discussion to multiple simultaneous games<\/strong>, showing how interacting payoff systems create higher-dimensional and more complex evolutionary dynamics.<\/p>\n The session stimulated engaging discussions on applications in biology, economics, and complex systems modelling, reinforcing the Faculty\u2019s commitment to advancing mathematical sciences research in line with UTM\u2019s ASCEND 2030 agenda.<\/p>\n
