Dr. Azizi highlighted the transition from classical game theory—where rational individuals choose strategies—to evolutionary dynamics, where strategies evolve through population interactions.

Using well-known examples such as the Hawk-Dove and Rock-Paper-Scissors games, the session demonstrated how strategy frequencies change over time and how stable equilibria emerge. The seminar further extended the discussion to multiple simultaneous games, showing how interacting payoff systems create higher-dimensional and more complex evolutionary dynamics.

The session stimulated engaging discussions on applications in biology, economics, and complex systems modelling, reinforcing the Faculty’s commitment to advancing mathematical sciences research in line with UTM’s ASCEND 2030 agenda.

For more Faculty of Science research news, visit:

Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
Where Great Minds Are Nurtured

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” type=”1_2″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_image src=”http://science.utm.my/utmfsresearch/wp-content/uploads/sites/642/2026/02/WhatsApp-Image-2026-02-11-at-5.53.21-PM-1.jpeg” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” title_text=”WhatsApp Image 2026-02-11 at 5.53.21 PM (1)” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][et_pb_image src=”http://science.utm.my/utmfsresearch/wp-content/uploads/sites/642/2026/02/pic-2-_-talk-.jpeg” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” title_text=”pic 2 _ talk” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_image src=”http://science.utm.my/utmfsresearch/wp-content/uploads/sites/642/2026/02/pic-1-_-group-photo-.jpeg” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” title_text=”pic 1 _ group photo” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

JOHOR BAHRU, 24 February 2026 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully organised a session of the Popular Science Seminar Series 2026 entitled “Evolutionary Dynamics of Complex Multiple Games”, presented by Dr. Azizi Rosli from the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
