Johor Bahru, 23 April 2024<\/em> \u2013 Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) successfully conducted a Scientific Writing Workshop: Journal Publishing as part of its Faculty of Science Research Month 2023. The workshop, led by Dr. Siti Sarah Safaai and featuring esteemed speakers such as Associate Professor Dr. Abd Rashid Mohd Yusoff, aimed to enhance scientific writing skills among faculty members and postgraduate students. The event focused on practical strategies for preparing and submitting manuscripts to Web of Science (WOS) or Scopus-indexed journals. Participants benefited from consultations and manuscript reviews provided by expert panels from the Nuclear, Materials, Optics, and Instrumentation divisions.<\/p>\n The workshop\u2019s impact was notable, encouraging greater engagement in writing for indexed journals and providing valuable insights into achieving successful publications. It also resulted in the submission of at least four manuscripts to indexed journals. The program began with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Suhairul Hashim, followed by an insightful session led by Associate Prof. Dr. Abd Rashid on crafting high-quality manuscripts. Attendees later participated in consultation and manuscript drafting sessions, culminating in a presentation of output targets. The workshop concluded with a closing ceremony.<\/p>\n Overall, the event was praised for improving the quality of manuscripts and boosting participants’ confidence in submitting to international journals.
