On October 2nd and 3rd, 2024, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) hosted the highly anticipated UTM INATEX and Festival Inovasi 2024, where STEM Interactive was invited as an exhibitor. This year\u2019s festival, themed \u201cNavigating the Future through Sustainable Innovative Development,\u201d<\/em> featured cutting-edge innovations from researchers and inventors at UTM and beyond. While STEM Interactive was not part of the official competition, the team successfully attracted potential investors to support the production of their cloud chamber product.<\/p>\n One of the key highlights showcased by STEM Interactive was the Cloud Chamber Module<\/em> (copyright IP\/CR\/00681). Invented by Izyan Hazwani Hashim and Nor Ezzaty Ahmad, the module is an essential tool in demonstrating the movement of subatomic particles. The cloud chamber is a crucial scientific instrument, enabling the visualization of cosmic radiation and other forms of natural radiation. Another innovative display, the Cloud Chamber Model,<\/em> was developed by Andrew Chong and Izyan Hazwani Hashim.<\/p>\n The exhibition also featured a Cloud Chamber Software<\/em> tool developed by a team of inventors, including Izyan Hazwani Hashim, Azia Nuryasmin Bushnal AZ, Faiznur Othman, Ng Zheng Wei, and Fahmi Ibrahim. This software enhances the cloud chamber experience by digitally tracking the movement of subatomic particles, providing more precise analysis and data collection.<\/p>\n The cloud chamber itself is a subatomic particle detector used widely in nuclear physics. It enables the observation of high-energy particles, such as muons and electrons, through the visible tracks formed by ionizing radiation in saturated alcohol vapor. Despite its limitation in size and its inability to detect higher-energy particles, the cloud chamber remains a cost-effective and valuable tool for scientific education and research.<\/p>\n The UTM INATEX and Festival Inovasi 2024 brought together inventors, researchers, and industry stakeholders to celebrate innovations that will shape the future.
