DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY
- A Master’s Degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other Institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate; or
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree and experience in the relevant field recognised by the Senate; or
- Candidates who a currently registered in a Master’s Degree programme at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and approved by the Graduate Studies Committee of the respective faculty and the Senate.
- First class Bachelor graduates [CGPA >=3.67] may apply for fast0track PhD (term & conditions apply)
MASTER’s DEGREE
- A Bachelor’s Degree with good honours from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognised by the Senate; or
- A qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree and experience in the relevant field recognised by the Senate.
The objectives of this programme are to produce mathematics practitioners and researchers who are:
- To produce PhD students who are experts in the field of mathematics and are able to work independently with supervision from highly qualified supervisors.
- To produce PhD students who are very knowledgeable and theoretically sound and are able to apply these for the analysis and solution of problems where these leads to new or substantially improved insights and performances.
- To produce PhD students who can think critically and creatively thus capable of generating and developing new knowledge for the benefits of mankind.
- To produce PhD students with excellent communication skills, capable of communicating effectively both technically and theoretically in various context and with various related parties, thus sharing new knowledge with other researchers from other institutions, universities and also industrialists.
- To produce PhD students who can adapt to changes in environment and practice life long learning.
- To produce PhD students with high integrity and good ethics.
