Welcoming Address
First and foremost, allow us to welcome you to the Faculty of Science as you embark on your journey here and we sincerely hope that everyone is keeping safe during these trying times.
We are certain that a few months ago each of us had very different plans for 2020. Up until a few weeks ago, our faculty was looking forward to physically welcome new students to our faculty. Alas, the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has all but turned the world on its sides, calling for certain adjustments to be made. As hard a decision as it was, there is no compromise when it comes to the health and safety of our students and faculty.
During this unprecedented time, the faculty has been working tirelessly to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure our students, including the new students, will have access to only high-quality L&T. Our lecturers are equipped with the necessary needs/technology and skills to ensure the L&T will be running smoothly and effectively. Despite not being physically here, we aspire to nurture and cultivate you, students who are the cream of the crop. We hope by the end of your journey with us, you will be a human being who is self-motivated, self-managed as you continue to build on the interaction and communication skills that you will have picked up during your time here. We also want nothing more than for you to be in touch with your volunteerism spirit and are able to build a work relationship with all walks of life.
As we tread this new world, the faculty’s vision still holds: to be a world-renowned faculty in the advancement of science and mathematics. Our mission to lead in the development of holistic talents and knowledge through learning and teaching, research and innovation for universal well-being is what we are perpetually striving towards.
The Faculty of Science strives for inclusive education, whereby all students can access the courses contents and delivery without having much problems. Constant communication with you will be done for any latest update regarding the campus reopening.
We understand that this is a challenging and unexpected time, and our goal is to help students navigate the process and ensure a successful start to experience to your university education.
Stay safe and keep well.
