About MJSMSM 2026
The Malaysia–Japan Symposium on Mathematical and Statistical Modelling (MJSMSM) is a platform that promotes research collaboration and knowledge exchange between Malaysian and Japanese researchers in the fields of mathematical and statistical modelling. The inaugural symposium, MJSMSM 2025, was successfully held on 26 August 2025, attracting 126 participants from academia, industry, and government agencies from both countries.
Building on this success, the 2nd Malaysia–Japan Symposium on Mathematical and Statistical Modelling (MJSMSM 2026) will be held on 3 September 2026 as a special programme under the International Seminar on Mathematics in Industry (ISMI2026), which will take place from 2–3 September 2026.
MJSMSM 2026 will feature invited presentations by researchers from Malaysia and Japan, a keynote address, and opportunities for networking and collaboration. The symposium will be conducted in a hybrid mode, with Malaysian participants attending physically and Japanese participants joining online. The event aims to further strengthen international partnerships and encourage the application of mathematical and statistical modelling to address real-world industrial, technological, and environmental challenges.
