STEM@FS ACTIVITIES 2024

WHAT IS STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It represents an interdisciplinary approach to learning that focuses on these four domains, which are increasingly critical in a rapidly evolving technological world. STEM education integrates these areas to develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaborative working, all of which are essential for innovation and addressing complex challenges.

In many educational systems, STEM has become a focal point due to the demand for a skilled workforce capable of handling advanced technology, scientific research, and engineering projects. STEM fields are also instrumental in driving economic growth, and they often offer high-paying career opportunities in areas like software development, data science, environmental science, biotechnology, and engineering.

The approach in STEM education encourages hands-on and experiential learning, often incorporating real-world scenarios to make the subjects more relevant and engaging for students. It also supports the development of essential 21st-century skills, such as creativity and adaptability, which are beneficial across many careers.
