Johor Bahru, Malaysia – April 2025: The Department of Biosciences at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is proud to announce its completion of ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Program Assessment for Master of Science (Biotechnology) programme. The assessment, conducted from April 22nd to 24th, 2025, underscored the department’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence while aligning with both international and ASEAN quality standards.
The AUN-QA event commenced with an Opening Ceremony on April 22nd at the Senate Hall of the Sultan Ibrahim Chancellery Building. Highlights of the ceremony included a warm welcoming address by Prof. Dr. Shamsul Bin Sahibuddin, Acting Head of the UTM Kuala Lumpur Branch, followed by opening remarks from the AUN-QA representative, Assoc. Prof. Chavalit Wongse-ek. The assessment culminated in a Closing Ceremony on April 24th at Hyatt Place, Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, featuring closing remarks from both Assoc. Prof. Chavalit Wongse-ek and UTM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Shafry bin Mohd Rahim.
The department’s proactive approach in undertaking detailed preparatory work and collaborative efforts among its faculty not only highlights its pursuit of continuous improvement but also bolsters its reputation for delivering high-quality, impactful education in the sciences.
