As part of the SSCT 2703 Gene Expression and Regulation course assessment, students participated in an engaging and interactive learning session titled “Explore Gene Expression”. The session was guided by the course instructors, Dr. Nazrin Abdul Aziz and Dr. Nurriza Ab Latif.
This student-led session aimed to deepen understanding of gene expression, covering processes from transcription to translation through creative and hands-on STEM-based activities. Students able to explore complex biological concepts using educational games, digital simulations, models, and engaging peer-to-peer presentations.
The session featured a range of student-designed activities such as Mutation Mafia – Silent the Cancer Gene, Epigenetic UNO card game, interactive digital comics, gene regulation crosswords puzzle, online quizzes, 3D models and many more. This activity not only showcased the students’ creativity in STEM learning, but also enhanced their teamwork and communication skills.
Congratulations to all students for their dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm. Your innovative approach to learning reflects the growing potential of interactive education in preparing future scientists and leaders in biotechnology.
