Welcome to the Department of Biosciences

Welcome to the Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science at UTM! We offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs that tailored to ignite your passion for the sciences. For undergraduate programs, currently we are offering B.Sc. (Biology) with Honours, B.Sc. Biology Industry with Honours and B.Sc. in Biotechnology with Honours. If you have just finished your undergraduate degree or plan to take time out of your career, our postgraduate programs will enhance your employment opportunities. We offer a range of mix mode programme known as M.Sc. (Biotechnology), and research-based postgraduate programmes such as  Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Bioscience.

Our department is home to 46 dedicated academic staff members whose expertise spans various in Biosciences and Biotechnology fields, including integrative omics, precision medicine, cancer and infectious diseases, environmental and industrial biotechnology, plant biotechnology, and agrotechnology, molecular biology and proteomic, nanotechnology, biopharmaceutical biotechnology as well as bioinformatics and molecular docking. These technologies are applied in agriculture, health care, forensics, industrial processing and environmental protection and agricultural management in many useful ways.
