On 8 November 2025, the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), hosted the FS Alumni Homecoming 2025 at Le Grandeur Palm Resort, Senai, Johor. The event brought together 120 participants, including alumni, final-year students, lecturers, and staff from across the faculty, in a meaningful celebration aimed at strengthening ties between alumni and the academic community.
The program was officiated by Tuan Haji Armadi bin Ahmad, Deputy Registrar of UTMAlumni, and graced with welcoming remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shafinaz Shahir, Dean of the Faculty of Science.

Department of Biosciences: A Voice of Experience
Representing the Department of Biosciences, alumnus Mr. Rezal Syadanie bin Abd Rani delivered an engaging and heartfelt address. A graduate of UTM’s Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biology (Batch 1997), Mr. Rezal is now a seasoned Safety, Environmental, and Process Engineer with over 16 years of experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and automotive industries. He currently serves as a Senior Registered Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Officer in Kertih, overseeing supply base management, warehousing, and logistics operations.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Rezal shared personal reflections and fun facts that resonated with the audience. A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, he encouraged students to “stay curious, stay humble, and never stop upgrading yourself — that’s the true formula for success.” His multifaceted interests—from coffee and music to interior design and freelance graphic work—painted a vibrant picture of a UTM graduate who continues to grow both professionally and personally.
