Research Month @Faculty of Science 2020: Manuscript Writing Workshop for Final Year Undergraduate Research Project 2020
On 17th , 2020: Prof. Fahrul Huyop and his team member initiate the manuscript writing workshop specific for final semester of an Undergraduate Research Student’s Project 2020 at Biosciences Department at T02 Building. A one day workshop started at 8.30am and ended at 7.00pm on the same day. It was attended by a selected potential undergradute research students only. This event was co-joint with Dr. Yilmaz Kaya, Chief Editor of an International Journal of Life Sciences and Biotechnology (DergiPark-AKADEMiK, Turkey), Dr. Azzmer Azzar Abdul Hamid of Research Unit for Bioinformatics, Computational Biology-International Islamic University Malaysia (RUBIC-IIUM) and Enzyme, Technology & Green Synthesis Group (ETGS) lead by Assoc. Prof. Ch.M Dr. Roswanira Ab. Wahab from Chemistry Department, UTM. During the workshop, the students learn about manuscript preparation specific for the intended journal and tips to avoid mistakes during mansucript preparation for example failure to state a research hypothesis, contradictions within the manuscript, inaccurate on discussion, inconsistent use of terms, and a conclusion that is not supported by the data. Prof. Fahrul Huyop is an active committee member of UTM Professors Council. The council currently lead by Professor Omar Yaakob. According to Professor Omar research activities is highly encourage at academic levels in UTM. Final undergraduate students are feeder for Post Graduate research in UTM.
Assoc. Prof. Ch.M Dr. Roswanira Ab. Wahab presented a certificate of participation to one of the participants who successfully uploaded one manuscript in the ScholarOne like manuscript submission system.
