Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) hosted Dr. I.B.W. Gunam from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University (UNUD), Indonesia, on his first official visit from 25 to 29 August 2025. The visit followed the signing of the MoU between UTM and UNUD on 28 May 2025, marking a milestone in strengthening bilateral collaboration. The overall program was coordinated by Professor Dr. Fahrul Zaman Huyop.
During the five-day visit, Dr. Gunam met with UTM leadership, including the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shafinaz Shahir, and representatives from RMC and the Department of Biosciences. He toured key facilities such as the Research Management Centre (RMC), PPMU laboratories, and the Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD), as well as postgraduate facilities at the Department of Biosciences.
The highlight of the visit was IBD Wellness Day 2025, officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosnani (IBD Director) and Professor Rosli Ilias (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research & Innovation), showcasing UTM’s vibrant research ecosystem and commercialization success.
The visit concluded with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to impactful collaborations in research, mobility, and academic development.
