JOHOR BAHRU – A career fair organize by the Faculty of Science was held on the 23rd of April 2019. After the opening ceremony at the main building of Faculty of Sciences (C17), the 4th year students from Department of Biosciences continued their programme at the T02 building. The first sharing session was by the alumni of Biosciences Department, Miss Ching Xin Huey from the Impact Volution with the title of “How to get yourself employed”. The sharing session had a very good feedback from the students.
On the afternoon the career fair was continued with a mock interview session. About 9 lecturers from Department of Biosciences, 8 alumni and 5 individuals from industry joined the mock interview session. The alumni are from different background, for example, one of them is a lecturer in Unisza, some work in a well know company such as Biocon, Novugen Pharma, Great Eastern, Blubio and Bioprout. While interviewers from the industry are from JBiotech, and LipidChem sdn bhd. Students were interviewed either one by one or pairing due to limitations of time and space. They bring along their resume from the previous HTGYE programme. The 4th year students came well prepared with proper attire for the interview session and they all were very excited to attend it.
The programme ends at about 4.30 pm with certificate and appreciation tokens given to the speaker and interviewers.
