The 2025 BioEksplora SULAM program, organized by Genetics students from the Faculty of Science, UTM, commenced on December 6, 2025, promoting organic farming practices to 153 participants (including 75 targeted community members from Iskandar Puteri). Key activities featured hands-on seedling transfer, an Electrova composter demonstration, interactive lectures on Permaculture, Agroforestry, and Biocontrol, along with outdoor games such as archery, the “Pieces of Nature” puzzle, and the “Cross the World for the Word” explorace.

This initiative thrived on strong GUCI synergy, where the government, through MBIP, supported Low Carbon Society initiatives and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) via urban greening and farming. The University (UTM) successfully translated theoretical knowledge into practical fieldwork while empowering students’ soft skills.

The community, comprising residents and students (including those from Flat Kenari, Flat Jentayu, Kampung Melayu Gelang Patah, SK Taman Mutiara Rini, SK Bukit Indah, SK Parit Kudus, and SMK Ayer Molek), gained exposure to modern agricultural techniques to reduce living costs and foster home gardening (homesteading). Finally, industry partners (IIB and Electrova) fulfilled corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals that supported their ESG profiles and boosted brand awareness.

Ultimately, 90.5% of participants rated their overall program experience highly.
