Associate Professor Dr. Raja Kamarulzaman Raja Ibrahim obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering & Analytical Science at The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is the Head of Optics Panel and Head of Applied Optics Research Group of the Physics Department and at the same time serves as Deputy Director at Laser Center UTM. He is a mentor at the faculty’s SUNSHINE++ program, which nurtures research excellence in young academic staff. His research encompasses complementary optical spectroscopy techniques & sensors especially for gas phase analysis in diverse applications from non-thermal plasma technology, stingless bee honey quality and purity analysis, water treatment and emission of gaseous & volatile organic compounds (VOCs) analysis.
