Dear All,
Advanced Optical Materials Research Group (AOMRG) is pleased to organise the Workshop on Characterisations and Analyses of Materials (CharM2022) in collaboration with the Department of Physics, Laser Centre, Nuclear & Radiation Physics (NuRP), Scientific Computing & Instrumentation (SCNI) research groups (Faculty of Science), Frontier Materials Research Alliance (FMRA) and Malaysia Solid State Science & Technology (MASS) UTM Chapter.
The main aim of this workshop is to share the knowledge on diverse techniques for materials’ characterisations and analyses, fostering impactful research publications. Thus, it enables the continual efforts of UTM to gain visibility on the national and international fronts. Furthermore, this workshop attempts to strengthen research collaboration for mutual benefit.
The following topics in the emerging areas will be covered:
? Ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy at a glance: The know-how
? Photoluminescence spectral analysis: What we learn from it?
? Judd-Ofelt analysis of real materials containing lanthanides: In practice
? X-Ray diffraction analyses: How far can we go?
? Analysing X-ray diffraction data: Capturing materials’ phases
? Molecular vibrational spectroscopy in a nutshell
? Infrared spectral features of materials: Vibrational analysis
? Neutron diffraction and raman spectral profiles: Quantifying local atomic environments in materials
? The physics and performance of DFT method in materials science
? Electron spin resonance spectroscopy: Where, when and how?
? Scanning electron microscopy: Theory to practical applications
Place:
? UTM HELIxS, C17 Level 1, Faculty of Science, UTM.
Date/Time:
? August 17, and August 18, 2022.
