Associate Professor Sharidan Shafie received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Malaysia in 2005. He is the leader of the Fluid Mechanics Research Group and previously served as the Director of the Faculty of Science’s Department of Mathematical Sciences. He is a member of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA). His primary research interests include mathematical modelling of boundary layer flow, heat and mass transfer. More than 25 PhD students and 10 MSc (Research) students have graduated under his supervision to date. There have been over 250 articles published, with 191 of them appearing in prestigious Web of Science journals.
