Dr. Faezah Mohd Salleh obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Cardiff University, United Kingdom. She is the current Assistant Dean of Quality and Strategy for the Faculty of Science, UTM, which oversees internal/external academic programme monitoring, audits and overall annual KAI performance for the faculty. She also actively acts as an institutional auditor for private universities assessment at the national level. Her research focus on DNA-based species identification which uses genomic data to help key stakeholders such as Johor National Parks generate baseline information to promote data-driven conservation actions. She strongly believes that the establishment of a systematic DNA database for Malaysian species will complement the existing taxonomic approach and pave the way for non-invasive DNA-based biodiversity assessment to its maximum potential as stated in the Strategic Paper on Precision Biodiversity 2020 (MySTIE), National Policy on Biological Diversity 2016-2025, Earth Biogenome project 2018-2028, and beyond.
