Associate Professor Dr Chong Chun Shiong obtained his PhD. in Biology (Microbial Enzyme Technology) at University of York, UK. He is appointed as the Faculty Research Grant Champion that works together with UTM Research Alliance and Research Management Centre in promoting and securing international grants. His research of interest is on microbial enzymes for industrial and environmental applications with key focus on microbial processes of agricultural biomass for generation of value-added products. He was awarded with various research grants including Fundamental Research Grant, Industry-International Incentive Grant, UK-SEA Newton Fund, UK-Malaysia Newton Fund Impact Scheme and Industrial Grant from China.
