The Faculty of Science, UTM, successfully hosted a thought-provoking session under its Science Seminar Series with a talk by Distinguished Prof. Dr. Ingo Koeper from the Institute for Nanoscale Science & Technology, Flinders University, Australia.
The seminar titled “Tethered Bilayer Lipid Membranes – Versatile Model Membrane System” explored advanced insights into membrane biophysics and its applications in nanotechnology, biosensing, and synthetic biology. Prof. Koeper shared his expertise on the development and functionality of tethered bilayer systems as model membranes, emphasizing their significance in mimicking biological environments.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from UTM researchers, postgraduate students, and staff, fostering academic exchange and inspiring collaborative research ideas. Attendees benefited from the interactive Q&A session. This seminar not only enriched the scientific community at UTM but also strengthened international academic linkages, especially in the field of nanoscience and biotechnology.
